.:What Species are Allowed in Stone Claw:.

-We like all species of feline. (i.e. Long and short tailed Sabers, Hellcats, Cheetahs, Sand Cats, Lynx etc). All cats are welcome to try for acceptance.

-We are not very keen on Wolves and Canines in general (Unless they are allies or some sort of friend...There was that little thing with Inaria after all…) No Wolves or Canines are allowed to join the Pride. They may only come onto our land in exceptional circumstances (i.e. Part of a plot, Ambassador of a good ally, we will not be allies with packs that don't also contain sabers). Wolves are to be given one warning that they must leave, if they do not heed it then we attack and intend to kill.

-Hoofed animals (i.e. Horses, deer, goats etc) any any small animals (i.e. Mice, rabbits, weasels etc) are not allowed to join the Pride. I suggest they stay well away. We will eat them, no exceptions.

In Stone Claw nearly every Saber belongs to a Clan. With that membership comes a Second Clan Name and Clan Mark. Members are often mated off between the Clans to ensure good will and alliances.

.:Clan Heads:.

The Head would be the highest ranked individual of the Clan. Heads, and any of the high ranks can be challenged for their position by any other another Saber, regardless of Clan. If defeated the new Head could change the Clan Name and Mark and take the previous Heads Females as his own.

If Shai wished he could easily promote another Saber above one of the current Head, so changing the Head to one of his choosing. He might do this if he did not trust the current Head or thought them to be incompetent, this would be a rare event however, normally he would wait for another Saber to challenge the Head before he stepped in.

ICly the Head of the family would be in charge of Mating rights and all his Clans internal affairs. All Sabers wishing to become mates of any kind MUST consult BOTH Clan Heads for permission. Neglecting to do so could cause all kinds of trouble between Clans. If the Sabers went ahead and mated with out permission or despite being denied they would risk dishonouring their Clan, being Outcast and if found out the Male would be considered to have raped the Female.

.:Clan Marks:.

There are four pigments readily available in and around Stone Claw. Red Ochre, Yellow Ochre, Chalk and Charcoal. So that's Rusty red, browny yellow, white and black. These colours can be mixed so there can be light can dark shades of each colour and orangey brown too. There are no vivid shades, only natural colours!

The marks themselves will be simple, paw prints, smeared paw prints, dabs and streaks. Nothing uber complex! Simplicity is the key at all times. To make it stick just add water! Of course as it dries it will dust off in the end but it should last a day or so at least.

In times of War all Blood Feuds are laid aside for the duration of the conflict, Sabers often get a bit wild with the pigments at this time too and smear themselves in the stuff; partly to break up their outlines in the case of brightly or oddly coloured felines and also to show the family lines have broken down and they fight as one.

.:Blood Feuds:.

If you have been wronged by another you can instigate a Blood Feud, this means that you set your Clan against their Clan and forbid contact between the two unless it be Duels (possibly to the death).

The Head of your Clan must present a Poppy to Head of the other Clan and state why the Feud has begun. The other Clan may either try and make amends, consult the King to step in or return another Poppy to show their agreement to disagree. The Sabers of these two Clans may not randomly attack each other, things must be kept civilised. They arrange Duels at specific times and places with the King in attendance to make sure it is fair; these Duels can be to the death.

To not turn up to a Duel would be a disgrace and show of cowardice, in which case the Clan that did turn up would claim compensation; the other family would have to give them what ever they wanted. Which could be anything (i.e. A pound of meat from every kill, their youngest son, their most beautiful daughter. Even the other Clan Head's current mate if they wish it. Anything they ask must be granted)

In Stone Claw procreation is of the utmost importance, an hierless Saber is worthless.

If the Sabers went ahead and mated with out permission or despite being denied they would risk dishonouring their Clan, being Outcast and if found out the Male would be considered to have raped the Female.

The Female always takes the Clan name of her Mate, any cubs also take the Fathers Clan Name.

Females should be loyal to their mate, if they were found to be mating with another Male the legitamcy of all her previous cubs would be thrown into question which cannot be allowed. It is up to the Male to decide her punishment, and if he wishes to keep her as his mate, he may not however seriously harm or kill her. Most cases would lead to the Female being Outcast from her Clan in disgrace.

.:Concubines:.

Concubines are the female companion of the King. The King may ask females he has interest in to become his Concubines, they do not have to say yes, but it would be seen as rude to snub the King and most Clans would be keen to have a daughter in such an influential position (No pun intended ;3). Only Females may be Concubines, all Concubines also keep their own Clan Name and Marks while any Cubs they produce belong to the Royal Clan.

They are strictly off limits to other Males who have a romantic interest, in that regard they are the King's and his alone. Should it be found that another male has been with Concubine it would question the legitimacy of all the King's previous cubs and weaken his position in the eyes of the Pride. To deter this kind of behavior there are strict rules. Any male; other than the King, who mated with a Concubine would be sentenced to death. If the Concubine was complicate to the act i.e. Not forced into it somehow. Then she would be banished in dishonour, shame brought upon her Clan and any cubs taken from her.

.:Cubs in Stone Claw:.

The title and protection of cub status lasts until a Saber's first birthday, after that they are considered Adults and may take Ranks and Mates.

No Cub may be harmed, or allowed to be harmed by another Saber even if the Cub were of another Clan, even if they hated that Clan. Death is the penalty for harming any Cub.

If any Cub who was not born in; or not even related to a Stone Claw Saber, is found they are also to be taken in and cared for to be brought up as part of the Pride, normally they would be adopted into one of the existing Clans. In this way and Sabers who have not strengthened the Pride and reproduced; for whatever reason (e.g. No desire to, Infertile, ect), can redeem themselves by bringing up a Cub. Stray cubs are to be treated no differently to Cubs actually born in Stone Claw, they are brought up in exactly the same way and taught all of Stone Claws customs and beliefs. By the time they are full grow they should be a true Stone Claw Saber no matter where or how they were born.

No Cub can be charged with any crime, if the Cub should commit a felony the Parent or Guardian are held to responsible. Cubs can also not be held accountable for any crimes committed by their parents, for example it a Cub was the result of a rape, the cub would simply be taken away from the mother and given to a different Family (often the Fathers if he was of the Pride, so they can make amends) and never told who its parents were to save it the shame of its heritage.

.:Rape:.

A word to the wise. Do not touch another guys Female, or any Female for that matter unless you have permission. A male who mates with a Female with out permission from her Clan Head would be considered to have raped her. The females Clan may demand compensation in any form or a Blood Feud could begin.

If a female was attacked by a Saber from outside the Pride the Male would be hunted down and executed for his crimes against Stone Claw. The female may keep any cubs though does not have too, they may be taken away and given to another Clan to raise.

Any Saber leaving the Pride should meet with the King to tell him of your intentions, if you simple poof he will wonder what on earth has happened to you. Also if you just sneak away in the dead of night it will look suspicious and will reflect on your Clan.

Any Saber who has left the Pride and then wants to return will have to have a jolly good reason for why they just vanished. All sabers returning from an unexplained absence will be put on trial for Desertion. There is no guarantee that they will be allowed to return to the Pride at all.

-How do you RP a Sabre? Is it any different to RPing a Wolf?

It’s exactly the same! They think the same, act the same; they have clan structure, ranks, leaders and rivalries just like wolves. If you can RP a wolf you will have no problem with a Sabre <3

-But there are differences between felines and canine behavior. What are they?

There are not that many but I shall cover the main ones for you here.

-Canines wag their tails when they are happy. Felines wag their tails when they are angry.

-Canines growl when mad. Felines growl and hiss when mad.

-Felines wash themselves with their tongues. Canines don’t really wash X3

-Who can deal with acceptance?

-Are the majority of the Pride member’s descendants of the King?

No, not at the moment (But he is working on it -nudge nudge wink wink-). Shai’s father Kron was old when he took power; he only had a single litter with his Queen. At the current moment, most of the Pride members are either old residents /descendants of Satyricon's reign or accepted Sabres from other lands/prides.

In the past a King had a Queen and many concubines, he would be able to produce enough children to populate the Pride and make most of the members his descendants. That’s what most Kings would want, since having many children (especially sons) is a mark of power.

-How does the Queen feel about the Playboy she's got for a husband?

In the case of a young King that would have a Queen and a set of concubines, the Queen is defiantly allowed to feel dislike towards his mistresses, especially those who appear to be ambitious. Unfortunately for her, she needs to tolerate them for the more there are and the more children they bear him, the more power the King has and the more power he has, and the longer the Queen will be in power with him.

The Queen is his main female, she gets priority, respect, power and control of the Kings Line. Concubines usually only get to spend time with the King when the Queen is either too busy or not interested in spending time with him.

It all depends on the Queen's personality really, if she chooses to accept the concubines as a sign of her husband's power or if she sees them as potential enemies. =) It can be one or the other.

-Are females treated equally to males in Stone Claw?

Nope. Females may not occupy certain ranks and are viewed as weaker than Males. It depends a lot on the Clan but daughters could be mated off against their will. Extreme and unmerited violence against females however is not tolerated, and neither is rape. A female is under the control of her Clan Head until she finds a Mate or a mate is found for her.

-My girl is HAWT fo Shai! How can she become his Concubine!?!?

Please don't drool all of me X3 To become a Concubine firstly you must be female, (Shai isn't into guys sorry..Though there are some darn sexy Warriors out there ;3...I digress).

The female can either ask Shai for a position in Court as his Concubine, or if he likes the look of her an invitation may be extened to her. In both cases Shai, or the female have the right to refuse the others advance...But it would be very rude to refuse the King, most Clans would jump at the chance to advance one of their own; besides how could you say no to that ginger hunk?

-Can all Males have multiple mates? Or is that pleasure resevered only for the King?

All Males can have multiple mates; though normally only the Clan Leaders get anywhere, in Stone Claw procreation is of the untmost importance. A Male with no hiers is viewed as worthless. The King's females however are ranked as Concubines and she, and her Clan, get all the benefits of having the Kings favour.

-Why don’t you follow the Nameless tradition?

Simple answer to that one. It’s just too confusing!

-Does Stone Claw have a "Spiritual Leader", if not can my character be it?

No and no. Stone Claw has none of these "Spiritual Leaders" we don't really believe in all that mubo jumbo mystic rubbish. Generally we only value and care for what we can see, which is each other and our land. Your character could be spiritual, we wont stop them, but unless they were some one of High Rank and great respect they would probably be bullied.

-If the King died would the Queen then rule alone?

Absolutely not! The throne passes from Father to Son, on the Kings death his chosen Son would then rise to the position of King.

-What does your average Stone Claw Sabre look like?

A classic Stone Claw sabre who has decended from the Old Clan Blood Lines has a bob tail and striped coat, normally in natural earthy colours. Of course, over time bloodlines have been mixed with those of Sabres from other Prides so long tails, new markings and colours patterns do crop up.

-Are all colours and markings allowed in Stone Claw?

Why yes! Your sabre can me pink, purple and yellow with green and maroon spots if you want! Though it might get laughed at. Lets try and keep designs tasteful and mildly naturalish ah?

-How big is a Sabre Tooth Cat compared to Wolves?

-How does the pride treat outsiders?

All outsiders (so long as they are Sabres) are initially approaches as possible candidates for future pride member. If an outsider shows himself/herself as being good natured, he/she can then be allowed to stay for a while (if just passing by) or to be accepted as a member. If the outsider shows any signs of aggression or challenges the authority, he may then be chased out. If battle ensues, the Guard/Scout that came across the Trespassers has the right to kill or attempt to do so if he/she feels his/her life was endangered.

Wolves that cross the borders (Unless part of a plot or from an ally) get one warning. Only the one mind and it will most likey be phrased as "Get the hell off our land you scum". If they refuse to leave they are to be killed on the spot. However if any creature (Wolf or Other not from an ally we know) claims to carry a message, then they may be escorted to the King for delivery, if the King is displeased for some reason the creature may still be killed anyway (Hope it’s a good message ah =P). Any messager will be expected to be alone. Since there is no need for more than one individual to carry a message, any others in its company would be killed after the one warning.

Smaller creatures such as foxes, stoats, weasels or any others in the same size range are usually not brought to any attention. They are allowed to come and hunt small game if they wish. By walking into the borders though, they are exposed to the Pride members that may wish to hunt them; it’s at their own risk.
