She had examined it right down to the very dirt that the plant had sprang up from. It was the very plant she had feared - and expected - to grow in such a place as Death Valley. The place certainly lived up to its name well enough, what with all of the deadly foliage and the even deadlier canines within the pack residing in the valley; it was like a ring of hell, nearly, but still so very beautiful and alluring. Hayley lifted her head up, amber eyes glancing around curiously at the world around her. She'd came to Death Valley for a reason, to serve and for protection; most would see that as an oxymoron. Protection from Death Valley was like protection from the devil himself - it wasn't justified and was instead a twisted, corrupt version of the word. Shaking her head vigorously, the bondless would refocus her attention back to the vibrant purple flower. The flower she looked at was single, but not far away at all were numerous clumps of the deadly flower. "Rhododendron." she murmured, ears laying back at the name. Hayley had seen personally what the plant could accomplish - it was a wolfs worst nightmare. Her cousin had eaten a single leaf from the plant and ended up having the worst stomach aches and cramps, and her cousin had ended up probably shitting out everything in his body.
It was a very, very ugly sight.
For a moment, the bondless pondered what to do. There wasn't much she could do, not without risking her own discomfort. She doubted anyone in the valley would eat the plants. The thought of the amount of puppies that the pack had, however, made her mind change a little. If a puppy ate that, they'd die, no doubt about it. For a second, the bondless was torn, trying to decide what she should do. No, she knew what she should do - rip the plants up out of the ground, trample them, make sure they harmed no one - then again.. they did have a use. All you had to do was get a prey animal to eat the flowers and leaves, and then when the creature died and you served it up to someone.. that someone would feel the effects of how powerful herbalists could be. She herself did not hold the rank of Herbalist, but she considered herself an unofficial herbalist anyway - she had been one since before she had joined, why should she cease that now?
The girl sighed slightly, and sat back on her haunches, watching the flowers sway in the gentle evening breeze. The sun had turned the sky a vibrant array of purple and pinks, creating a truly beautiful sight that looked like something from an elders tale of the old ages. Hayley smiled lightly, giving her head a quick shake before refocusing on the flowers. What did she want to do? Either way, she was destroying something. If she dug them up, she either destroyed the herbalists possibly useful weapon, and if she left them there she risked someone being poisoned by the deadly foliage. "Little is simple in this world." Her voice was calm, melodic almost as she made her statement. Hayley was an intelligent being, there was no denying that; but, there was also no denying that she could definitely learn a lot more. The current matter at hand plagued her mind and was beginning to give her a headache. Huffing softly, she'd stand and shake herself, but she didn't move.
She wasn't done studying the plants, yet.
