[[Hoping to bring back Lucern under the rule of Miko, the past Mistress's son. The pack won't be completely the same, as I hope to bring more to it. But there won't be such drastic changes that it's a whole new pack... With the approval and guidance of the Macedonian wolves, Adonia Charybdis and Althea Hermes, Miko will leave his current pack and fight for what his mother had started. He hasn't given up on her.
Note that this will not happen until at least when he finds out about his mother's death. And that roleplay hasn't even been replied to, so don't count on a challenge popping up anytime soon. I have a territory in mind for challenging, so unless you're offering your own territory for the pack, I'd rather that no suggestions be thrown out. ^^ I will be talking to Hales to see whether or not previous Lucern members can rejoin the pack if it gets on its feet (as in previous Lucern wolves who are in Macedonia). If that's fine, then it'd be great, seeing as Miko'd enjoy the familiar faces, though you'd have to regain any rank you had.
Let's get started, here...]]

WHAT IS LUCERN
Hopefully a change from the fierce "fightkillfight" packs in the marshes, Lucern focuses more on protection and family. The heirarchy is mainly there to encourage the members within the ranks to strive for something, and to teach discipline. Carried on from the previous Mistress Bramble's view of intelligence and loyalty, the new Master Miko hopes to bring this back, as well as tightening the bonds within the pack and the security in pack territory. Pack gatherings are frequent, in hopes to tie the members closer together, to ensure that everybody knows everybody. Tournaments in various activities, games, and hunts are held at the command of the Master and Admirals.
Pups are a treasured part of the pack's daily life, and keeping them safe and happy is key. These small creatures are the future of the pack, and they should be honored and protected at all costs. For instance, when a threat is present, the pups are the first to be guarded.
However, this pack also has an Astrological faith. Whether or not its members decide to adopt this belief is entirely up to them, but they sure as heck had better respect it. The Star Gods are the entities that control the fates of every creature born into a mortal body. Bonded with common interests and strengths, the Star Gods formed constellations. The Queen of the skies, Cassopeia, is the previous Mistress Bramble's patron constellation, and is highly revered.
WHO'S ALLOWED
Any creature that can put itself to use within the Pack is more than welcome.
Only thing is: NO crocodiles, past Alteronians, or horses. Sorry...
IN-CHARACTER RULES
1. Territory Boundries: It is not allowed to leave the territory without permission. Only the Master or Mistress can give consent for one of the pack to exit the pack lands. They wants everyone to be safe, and to them, the pack lands is the safest place. Punishments for leaving the territory without permission will follow.
Punishment: The Master and Mistress take trespassing very harshly, they intend to keep the lands as safe as possible, and they will not tolerate anyone messing with the pack. They see trespassing as a crime to the pack, a sign as if you're challenging them. So, there is no doubt that, if you cross the borders, you will be found by a Sentry. They are to call on an Admiral or Scout if the intruder is not there for acceptance, and they must come. They will be suspicious on you, considering you passed the borderlines, but they will ask you if you seek acceptance. If not, they will tell you to leave. If you do not, they will chase you out. If any kind of a threat is sensed from you, they will attack. No matter how peaceful the pack is on the inside, the are strict when it comes to security. It is up to the Sentry to personally chase the intruder out if they are no longer welcome.
2. Behavior Towards Packmates: The Master and Mistress believe that every single member of his pack is important. So, anyone who is caught actually fighting or trying to kill or injure another member will be dealt with severely. The only consent is when the leaders orders for a Sparring Competition. Punishments for beating on a pack mate will be listed later.
Punishment: The Master and Mistress believe that every member of their pack is family; they are very important to them. So, unless it is approved/supervised sparring, fighting will not be tolerated. It is highly frowned upon to pick on or physically harm another packmate. Verbal fights are allowed, but watch what you say. If anyone attacks another pack member, they will be demoted. One of the two Admirals will strike the accused across the back, and then they will be demoted. According to the severity of the crime, it is up to the Admirals to make the right desicion of how low the rank shall be demoted to. If you disrespect either of the leaders, you will regret it. If it is something accidental, you must beg for forgiveness. If it is something small to medium, you will be demoted at the least. If it is something severe, you will either be beaten up and exiled, or swiftly executed (in the most severe cases). So, do NOT mess with the Master or Mistress. They believe in loyalty and respect, and so they both live this way. All in all, any kind of disrespect towards the Master or Mistress will not be tolerated in any way!
3. Regarding Mating: If you and another character want to show their love for one another in the form of a litter, you must talk to the Master and/or Mistress first. They does not want this pack to have too many puppies, especially ones that do not have great potential. They may assign certain pack members to become mates should he see that they are strong and loyal. But, unless permission is given, no mating can take place in this pack! Taking on a mate is definitely okay, there is no reason to ask for permission... just no mating. Punishments for this will be listed later.
Punishment: If, by any chance, two wolves take it upon themselves to show their love for one another, they will be sorry. Only the Master and Mistress are allowed to mate, unless they have given permission to anyone. If permission is given, then it is only because the two have qualities or traits that are required and strong in the pack. If a female gets pregnant, she is demoted to the lowest rank. However, if it is a repeated offense on the female, or she is already at a low rank, she will be kept at the low rank until birth. Then, once the litter is born, the mother is exiled, not welcome back for a very long time. If the male who mated with her is ever discovered or ratted out, he will suffer the same fate (demotation, or exile). Illegal pregnancy in the Lucern Pack is almost as horrible a crime as betrayal. It is not taken upon lightly. The two mated wolves will, from then on, be treated like traitors should they ever return (if exiled).
Punishment (Rape): Should a female get pregnant against her will, the male responsible will experience hell. Once found or tracked down, the Soldiers will have their fight with him. He will be beaten, slowly and brutally, until he is near death. It is then the victim's turn... She decides whether is lives and is exiled, or is killed right on the spot. Whatever he decision is, everyone must respect it. From then on, one of the Mistress's caretakers will be there to accompany the victim. She will be well cared for until she decides she no longer needs the extra assistance. But, once the pups stop feeding off of milk, the assistance is already cancelled.
4: Loyalty: BE LOYAL TO THE PACK. end o' story.
Punishment: Betrayal is a sign of a demon to the Lucern Pack, to be possessed by the spirit of Sirius. Since the pack is set on loyalty, they are absolutely disgusted by any traitors. Traitors from other packs are not allowed into the Lucern Pack by any means, whatsoever. And anyone who betrays the Lucern Pack shall face the leaders themselves. The Master, Mistress, or both will attack ruthlessly, and if the traitor does not escape and leave the lands quick enough, they will be killed. If they do escape, they are branded as Traitors and are not allowed anywhere near the packlands ever again.
5: Regarding the High Family: Seriously, they're your leaders and their family. Just respect them, okay? Punishments are the same for disrespect to the Master/Mistress.
6: Rank Challenges: The Lucern Pack encourages its members to strive for a higher rank, as well as making the rank better for itself. If a member feels the need to challenge another member for their rank, whether it be a master rank or something else, they're free to do so. However, someone of the High Family must attend the actual spar, to ensure that it was played out fair and square. When challenging another member for their rank, it is crucial to understand that you have to meet the expectations that were expected for that member, and exceed them. So, don't challenge an Admiral for their rank if you're just going to slack. Low-ranked members who do their job well are looked highly upon, not high-ranked slackers... Keep that in mind.
7: Territory Challenges: If the Pack is challenged for territory, it is highly looked upon to show up to the challenge and show your pride for your pack. The Master and/or Mistress are always going to be the one fighting. However, if it is more than a one-on-one fight, then they will most likely look to their most trusted and strongest friend(s) to aid them. It is an honor to fight beside your leader in the defense of the Pack's home, and if you succeed, don't be surprised to receive a promotion or at least some honorable recognition on the return back home. When the Lucern Pack is challenging another pack for territory, any are welcome to accompany the Master/Mistress on the trek to the new territory. However, the strongest/most trusted will be the ones chosen to fight. Don't take that into offense, though.
8: Consent: The Lucern Pack is a CONSENT zone. However, when an obvious and formidable threat is present, that drops into No-Consent.
9: Respect The Star Gods: Honestly, the Pack doesn't care if you don't believe in the Star Gods. But, whatever you do, do not disrespect them. Don't go on talking about how they're stupid or gay or not real. That is complete blasphemy and is as horrible has committing a high treason. Punishments WILL be severe. No mercy.
Punishment: Seeing as this is a high treason against the very force that Miko, and his mother, believed to keep the earth turning, there is no mercy. In the most lenient of circumstances, the traitor will be exiled, slashed across the back and branded as a high traitor. In the worst circumstances, an execution is necessary. The warriors and assassins will have their share with the traitor, before they are guarded for a few days, starved, and killed on the third day.
OUT-OF-CHARACTER RULES
1: Paragraph Length: Please, I do not believe I ask too much of you. But please keep to the standard literacy level. Here, in Corrazine, we have a 2-paragraph limit. No post should be under 2 paragraphs, or less than 300 words. Each paragraph should be at least seven sentences long. Any post that does not abide to this simple rule will get a notification, nothing drastic, that tells you that it is not long enough. If you ignore us and refuse to lengthen the post, it will be deleted. End of story. But seriously, keeping literate helps others be literate. It's a chain reaction.
2: Joining/Leaving: Acceptance is always welcomed whenever the pack borders are opened. And, seeing as the Master and Mistress are always welcoming to the thought of loyal followers, this will be very often. But, if you choose to leave Lucern, you must talk to the Master or Mistress OOCly. Preferably through PM. Unless it is a part of your rank, or the Master/Mistress has already discussed it with you, do not do it. If you leave the packlands without notice or reason, your character will be branded as a traitor. If you come back after leaving, do not expect a warm welcome. Since you were already marked as a traitor, you can be attacked. Depending on the situation and who your character is, they could be brought to the Master or Mistress. By then, your character will probably already be beaten up a bit. It is up to the leaders to decide whether or not you deserve to live.
3: Dens: Dens are hard to make. They take up vast amounts of time and energy. So, unless you plan on working yourself to death, go ahead and make one. But, you must ask one of your leaders before you can. We don't want holes everywhere, it could cause injuries. Also, if you want a den and have already asked the Master or Mistress, you don't have to do it alone. Feel free to ask one of the servants, with a leader's permission since they are vowed to them, or a peasant if you wish. They are not allowed to decline a request or order from anyone who is above the rank of draftee, or pup, if you're that young. But please, please, please, ask!
4: Pregnancy: You must as one of the leaders for permission. The Master and Mistress don't want too many youngsters running around the pack, or pups that don't have great potential. The only ranks that don't need permission are the High Ranks, even if one is from the High Ranks, and one isn't. But if both of the two lovers are below that rank, they must ask. Even then, when the female is pregnant, don't have it last only a week. Since this forum is semi-realistic, at least have it be two weeks, real time. We don't want pups conceived and born over night. Seriously.
5: Fighting: Approved fights are more than allowed, as long as they are supervised by either one of the High Ranks, or at least two of the Respectable Ranks. If it is part of a training, then only the leader of the rank is needed to supervise. Any non-consented fighting will be taken upon harshly by the Admirals, or even the Master and Mistress themselves. If the fighting was harmful enough, or the intentions were dishonorable enough, your character might even be dropped in rank. Be careful. If you want your character to have a fight, or you have planned one out with someone else's character, please just ask the Mistress and Master for approval before you actually create it. Thank you.
6: Killing: The only time killing is no-consent is when a male is found guilty of raping, should the female agree to have him killed, when a traitor is caught, or you have attempted murder on one of the higher ranks. Other than that, killing is always consent. Plan out the fight, have it approved, and then, if you wish, you can have your character be killed. But the desicion is entirely up to you, unless it was one of the reasons for no-consent.
7: Be courteous: There are other members within the Pack. Be sure to respect them, their characters, and their opinions. Just as you have a right to say what you feel, so do they. Do not put yourself any higher than anyone else.
8: Do Not Spam: Honestly. Spam is annoying, and that is what the Spam Bin is for. Lucern will be set up with it's own, personal Spam Bin as soon as these laws are all completed. Feel free to spam your little heart out there. But do not do it elsewhere. The occasional fun is understandable, but if I find that one user in particular keeps posting random crap, I will delete it and warn that user.
9: Respect the Leaders: Running a pack is hard business, especially since the leaders are more than likely to have other characters to deal with. There is such a thing as real life, which takes place away from the computer screen. So, obviously, the leaders cannot be online every second of every day to help you. We will try to help you as best we can, and we promise you that. But do not harass us, spam us with questions, or completely disrespect us. It is extremely rude and will not be tolerated.
10: IC-OOC Problems: If you find that you have a problem, issue, or a simple suggestion for the Pack, I would prefer that you PM it to one of the Pack leaders. Unless the situation is a type of poll or group discussion, there is no need for a whole topic to be posted - one that rants at the leader or the tactics that the Pack is operating under. I find it to be a bit rude and unorthodox.

THE RANKS
[[High Family]]
Master: He is the leader of the pack, and he is in charge of controlling the males in the pack. It is his duty to signal when the pack shall hunt as a group, when to go into battle, to officially allow a member into the pack, and to make punishments and ranks official to a member. He must be loyal and determined, understanding and fierce, his heart set out on the prosper of his pack.. Everything that he plans or does must be for the better of the pack. He has the right to make any decisions, as long as he discusses it with the Mistress. The only ones who are able to take the Master out of rank is the Assembly... with a popular vote. However, the Master must keep to any rules that is set down in the land, seeing as fairness is crucial.
Mistress: She has as much power as the Master, and does NOT have to be his mate. She is in charge of controlling the females in the pack, and is given as much power as the Master. Should the Master die, or be unable to make decisions regarding his duties, the Mistress must be able to keep the pack standing on all four paws. She must be loyal and determined, caring and fierce, her heart set on her pack. Also, she be loyal to the Master and the pack, and should be there to support them at all times. Everything that she plans or does must be for the better of the pack. She has the right to make any decisions, as long as she discusses it with her mate. The only ones who are able to take the Mistress out of rank is the Assembly... with a popular vote. However, the Mistress must keep to any rules that is set down in the land, seeing as fairness is crucial.
Ciplans: The Ciplans are an extremely honorable rank - the chosen heirs to the throne. Whoever earns this rank also holds another rank, and it doesn't have to be a high one. A Ciplan is usually one from the family of the Master and Mistress, though this is not always the case. They are expected to help keep the ranks organized, and follow the Admirals as their mentors. They must be determined and strong, persistent and fair. One must be at least one season old before they have a chance of being appointed this rank.
Admirals: The Admirals are the second in command, they are your betas. They are to assist the Master and Mistress in decision-making, should they be called upon. It is also their duty to deal with punishments should they need to happen. When battle dawns, they are to discuss any battle plans the pack will be using with the General, Master, and Mistress. They must respect their leaders, and almost all members of the pack. There are two Admirals, a male and a female. These two wolves are personally appointed by the Master himself, with his Mistress by his side.
Naits: The Naits are all of the offspring of the High Family. They are to be shown respect, whether they are male or female. They will also be given another rank to meet their specific qualities.
[[The Assembly]]
Patri: The Patri are probably the friendliest members of the Assembly. The Patri takes in any complaints that any of the lower classes has and presents it to the Assembly. They are to somewhat understanding, but also able to back up the Assembly and the High Family when any kind of rebellion or complaining goes on. They should be very intelligent, able to see situations from all angles, and clever in their words because they are expected to speak for the Assembly to the lower class. They should be able to persuade the lower classes to help them understand what the Assembly and High Crown are doing. There are usually 2 Patri, maybe one if he/she can handle the job well enough. These members are generally the spokespeople of the higher ranks for the lower ranks - making sure peace is kept within the ranks.
Oracle: The Oracles are an extremely important rank to the pack. These members are expected to know the values of the Gods and the pack inside and out. Being very passionate about the well-being of the pack, and the will of the Gods, the Oracles are expected to be the speaker of the Gods' wills. The Oracles are considered to be the actual voices of the Gods. It is their job to lead the procession of the Ceremony of Cassopeia, as well as appoint new names for the Ceremony of Age. Often associated with the Herbalists, the Oracles know the remedies to bring about visions and the words of the Gods. This is an extremely honorable and important rank.
Torin: The Torin is expected know everything about anything outside of the Pack. When a new pack pops up, the Torin is expected to know about the leader, his mate, whether they is bisexual, anything! The Master and Mistress will often consult with the Torin about deciding which packs to make allies with, and which to condemn to be enemies. When an alliance is in order with another pack, it is usually the Torin who goes out to propose and solidify it - a spokesperson for the Lucern Pack to the outside world. The Torin also acts as the spokesperson for the Pack when venturing out to deal out alliances. They must be quick on their feet and strong with their voices, making sure that their point is getting across to the other side.
Consorts: The mate to the Mistress, this rank can only be held by one member, obviously. An honorable rank, this is not equal to the Mistress rank. This is the prime mating choice of the Mistress, though it is not a solid rank. Anyone seeing themselves fit for this rank has the right to challenge anyone else for it. The strongest is usually the best pick, though sometimes the Mistress may appoint the rank out of love or other reasons.
[[The Dignified]]
Wards: The Wards are the bodyguards to the High Family, as well as the Oracles. They must be quick and stealthy and strong. Whenever one of the High Family steps foot outside of the borders, or to go see a prisoner, there is always a Ward either beside them, or standing close by. It is their responsibility to keep the High Family safe. If they fail to do so, they will either be demoted to the Peasantry, or exiled if it truly hurt the pack. Wards also recieve the task of patrolling the territory for new litters, daily. Should they find a litter, one that is not known, they are to call upon the Assembly and/or the Master or Mistress. It is then time for them to step aside for the judgement of these pups to be made. When it comes to the Ceremony of Cassopeia, the Wards are to stand by the Oracles as they speak and tell their judgment, as sometimes their words may not always be pleasing to others. There is often a selected few Wards to specifically guard the Oracles, as they are more closely bonded to them or are more highly skilled.
Scout: Often known as just another Sentry to other packs, the Scout is actually a very high and complicated rank in Lucern. Scouts here must be skilled in many ways. They must be built for stamina, as they do patrol the borders daily. However, they must also be built for fighting, as they are the ones who chase out intruders and threats. Given the authority to carry out acceptances, the Scouts must also have good judgment. The most common task for the Scout, however, is to make sure that the lower classes are actually doing something. While Lucern wants everyone to feel safe and at home in the Pack, slacking on the job, or not attempting to gain any rank is extremely frowned upon. The Scouts are to make sure that everyone is doing something - that everyone is helping the Pack in some form. If a Scout sees much of the lower class slacking, they can make suggestions to the captain ranks to hold recruitments. A Scout is most likely a Patrol that has proved themself to be of greater worth to the Pack.
Magnate: The Magnate is in charge of keeping the Patrols. They are to keep the food supplies high, and to make sure that anyone seeking acceptance is thoroughly inspected and reviewed before allowed inside Pack territory. The Magnate is responsible for keeping the Patrols in shape, and is usually associated with the Hiltran to discuss spars and situations.
Hiltran: The Hiltrans are the captain of the Arms. They are required to be blunt, loyal, quick, strong, and have a knack for kicking others into shape. They must plan out the formations and strategies for when the pack goes to fight, and are responsible for any mishaps that happen within the Arms. The Hiltrans are responsible to hosting the Arms training and recruitment, and should know when to boot a member off the rank before the Master or Mistress has to. There are two Hiltrans, and one of them should be specialized in specifically keeping the Trigger Arms in shape.
Kiare: The Kiare is the captain of the Herbalists in the Pack. They should have an extensive knowledge of all the plants, toxins, and secretions available in the territories. He/she should be compassionate, patient, organized, quick, and effective. There is rarely training for the Herbalists, but the Kiare should make sure that his/her pupils know how to react in certain situations. Recruitment is a requirement for the Herbalists, so the Kiare is in charge of setting up recruitment and following through with it. More often than not, the Herbalists will associated with the Oracles, supplying them with the herbs and plants necessary for their remedies. The Kiare is responsible for making sure this happens, otherwise the Oracles could lose the ability to comminucate with the Gods.
Amah: The Amahs are required to care for any pups that are born, since the Master and Mistress wants the mothers to continue with their jobs. Males and females can be Amahs, though females are more common, and they should have a great deal of patience. They are to watch the pups through the day, feed them, and teach them the ways of the pack while everything else is going on. If the pack is under threat, the Amahs are required to take the pups to a secure place immediately until notified otherwise.
[[Task Force]]
Patrol: These are the sentries and hunters of the Pack. They are to patrol, heh, the borders daily, dealing with acceptances. It is also their responsibility to hunt and bring back food for the pack when neeeded. More often than not, the Magnate will probably send out raiding parties to the neutral lands in order to get food that the Pack cannot find here. They should be vigilient and alert, and should be quick with their movements. Should they spot an intruder, they should defend their territory by the means of teeth and claw, unless said intruder is there for acceptance. Should the threat turn to be more than they can handle, they are to call on the Hor Arms to aid them. Also, the Arms and Patrols are often set up for spars, to keep each other in tip-top shape. It is usually planned ahead of time by the Hiltran and the Magnate. Occasionally, the Patrols are sent out on recruitment parties to the neutral territories to try and get more pack members.
Arms: The Arms are the soldiers of the Pack. While the Pack does not thrive on violence, it tends to be necessary when it comes to defense. They are brutish and aggressive, loyal to their pack with their lives. They should be willing to die for their pack, and die they must if the situations comes down to it. They will undergo constant training to ensure that they are in the best of shape.
- Hor Arms - These are the master soldiers of the pack. This rank is only held by biggest and strongest of members, for the security of the pack. These soldiers will deal with intruders, preform executions, and will assist the Arms in major battles.
- En Masse Arms - These are the majority of the fighters. These are the first to go out and fight for their pack, and the last to return. These Arms are often sent out on an ambush because of their sheer amount.
- Trigger Arms - The Trigger Arms are the stealthiest of the killers - the assassins. This is often a double rank, as their skills are not always needed. These wolves are known to kill, and to kill only. When these creatures are sent out, there is no surrender option for their targets. These rankees should always be in tip-top shape, because they can be called upon seperately for individual and secret missions by the High Family.
Herbalist: The Herbalists are the healers, and there are usually only about two, maybe three, Herbalists in the Pack. This way, since there really isn't a need for a lot of healers, the wolves with more potential can earn another rank instead. Herbalists are required to be patient and calm and reassuring. They should be very intelligent and great at solving problems. They are to heal the sick and injured, and to collect the herbs and plants that the Oracles need for their communications with the Gods. They are often sent out to the Oracles' den by the Kiare to provide said plants. When an Herbalist is set for a promotion, while the Kiare rank is filled, they are most often sent up to the Oracle rank, after extensive training, though.
[[Commoners]]
Pupils: This is the ranks that all pups have until they are nine months old. Once they reach that age, they will become a part of the Majority rank unless they have a rank already cut out for them. However, it is highly expected that once they reach nine months, they have a rank set out for them.
Majority: This is the standard rank. Not much is expected, but the Master and Mistress will require any Majority to at least try to gain a higher rank. If you stay at this rank for too long, they will be angered because you're just being lazy. Get into gear.
[[Foreigners]]
Comrade: This is a single being who is at peace with the Pack. This can be because they have pledged their loyalty, but reside elsewhere; are good friends with the Master or Mistress, or have proved themselves worthy of such a rank. They are granted passage onto the Pack's territory without harassment, but of course they must state their reasons for being there if asked.
Allies: Another pack who is at peace with the Pack, almost always under agreed terms. Each Ally is granted specific different offerings depending on how the alliance was set up.
Traitor: A traitor who has proved themselves a disgrace to the pack. This does not mean that they were once a part of the pack. A traitor could be someone from a highly-ranked member's past who is considered anything but welcome on pack lands. If they are spotted on the territory, a member has the right to kill them on sight.
Hostilities: Another pack who has proved themselves to be enemies of the Pack. This can be solved by them challenging the pack and losing, their virtues disagreeing with the Master or Mistress, or even if the pack doesn't like the other pack anyways.
