[[ the money system is entirely optional, though it is an obvious perk and will most likely come in handy at some point in time~ ]]
There is a system of currency set up within El Dorado, to promote intereactions between members as well as to encourage them to do their jobs and to do it right. The Two Legs is responsible for taking the hides of the pack's various kills and using it to make leather strips. These strips will be dyed certain colors, and therefore will be created into the pack's currency.
Undyed Strips = 1pt
Yellow Strips = 5 pts
Orange Strips = 10 pts
Red Strips = 20 pts
Purple Strips = 50 pts
Black Strips = 100 pts
These strips can be used for purchasing goods, services, or to be used as a part of a trade. So if you wish to purchase a trinket or some food off another member, you have the option of offering them and spare strips you're willing to spend.
However, these atrips are also used as rewards for competant and dedicated members. Here are some duties/chores/jobs and their payments:
* 1 pt is awarded to a Watchman for each member s/he accepts. And 3pts is awarded to a Watchman everytime a member they accepted gets into a rank. (aka they brought in a useful member).
* 1 pts is awarded to a Siren for each Scallywag(slave) she brings in. An extra 2pts is awarded for each Scallywag that proves to be competant and moved to Sailor. An extra 2pts is awarded for each of the now-Sailors that gain a rank.
* 5pts is awarded for each worthy valuable that a Scoundrel brings back. The worth is determinded by the Sailing Master, Captain, or Quarter Master.
* Between 1-8pts is awarded to a member of the Embassy for each mission that ends successfully. Depending on the outcome of each mission, it is up to the Sailing Master and the Captain/Quarter Master to determine the reward.
* Between 1-10pts is awarded to a Steward/ess for each pup they successfully bring up. The amount they receive depends on their reputation and how well they brought the pups up. After bringing up three pups successfully, a Steward/ess does not have to take rates beneath 5pts, and can start charging up to 15pts.
* 10pts is awarded monthly (every OOC month) to each Master Rank that keeps their underlings in line and working. How well they do this is under the Captain/Quarter Master's discretion.
* 25pts is awarded when a member successfully raises a pup to the age of 9 months. An extra 25pts will be awarded if this new pup puts him/herself to work and gains a rank.
Any other chore, duty, etc may be charged for at each member's discretion.
The Sharks are in charge of monitoring and keeping track of all exchanges that are made between the members. The Loan Shark uses his/her personal den as the pack's "Bank". Here, the Loan Shark extends the den further than necessary to make room. Separate crevices will be dug out for each member's own 'stash'. This way, the members have the option of storing away their currency instead of carrying it all around out in the open. However, make sure you're in good terms with the Sharks, since they're the ones holding onto your money. It is the responsibility of ALL the Sharks to guard this den, in one way or another, to make sure no one raids it. If someone does break in? Well, that sucks, because unless you can find out who did it, they got away with all their stolen goods.
There is a tax, however, to ensure that you will not hoard all your strips. Every six weeks, OOCly, the tax will be collected from your total net worth. So if you have between 1-20 pts, 5% of your total is taxed. If you have between 21-40pts, 10% of your total is taxed. If you have between 41-60pts, 15% of your total is taxed. If you have between 61-100pts, 20% of your total is taxed. And if you have more than 100pts on hand by the end of the month, 25% of your total is taxed. All the taxes go to the Captain and Quarter Master, to ensure they can pay for the necessities to ally with packs, as well as other duties.
