[[ yay! this is a plot (i guess?). tez is expected to show up. night is AT, not past, the borders, so no killing him please. D8 ]]
His strides were swift and determined, his mind working like a churning clock. Everything seemed to be moving so quickly, and yet he still had to catch up to it all. Time was running out, and the magnificent bastard refused to let himself fall behind and miss out on the prime opportunity that his once-partner-in-crime had presented to him. The brute had rarely felt such raw determination building up inside of him, though he welcomed it like the owl welcomes the dark cover of night. His lithe body made it through the mucky shallows of the marshland's rivers, manuevering himself to evade pack territories as much as he could. Travelling from the northeastern corners of the terrain, he knew that heading directly to his target would be foolish. Surely the masses of Imperium would be gathering near there, as they usually did, near the commons. He would have to come in through the south, closest to where his den - and his true target - would be. With the eyes of the borders distracted by the promise of games and glory, the Reaper would be able to accomplish his task with ease... or at least that was his goal...
As he slipped through, with the blanket of darkness slowly fading as the dawn approached, the timber hastened himself. His body weaved beautifully as he exited the cold waters, streams and droplets bouncing off his legs and paws just as easily as he breathed. As those eyes glared, piercing the air like daggers, he only focused on the trail ahead of him, covered with moss and the foul stenches that he had managed to elude only weeks ago. And now, here he was, back for business of several sorts where he could not ignore these hideous imperfections of the land. But it would all be worth it, should he succeed. And the Reaper did not accept failure...
But as he trotted across quickly, a dark blur on the horizon, he took no notice to the boundaries he came up to. He knew nothing of the pack that resided here, and the cold air drowned out any scents that he hadn't even been interested in detecting. His vision, his ambition, directed him to see only what he hoped and needed to see. And Eschaton's borders were not on that list...

A war was coming and he knew it, or at least a counterstrike. People perhaps thought him a fool for his tralala tones, nothing more than a joker who happened to be able to coordinate himself with some mild success. Not true. He thought about every move, and while he hadn't initiated the last raid he certainly saw the potential trouble that was coming. He was more than ready for it though, would trust his arm of fangs to do as they were needed when the worst came to it. Which it would, of course it would. That was just the way the world worked, cutting you down in the silly places.
It was thus that when a strange scent eventually hit him he practically thrummed, muscles flexing under sturdy shoulders as his tail lashed. Pulling his priorly resting form up he lowered himself, slipping through the vegetation with an unnatural place. He was used to this land now, knowing the way it grew and died, twisted and turned. Even seemingly cumbersome horns causing less noise than one would think, near silence until he found the culprit. Someone with no traces of the little heathen pack on him, hmph. Well that didn't rule out a spy but perhaps there was something in this.
"Why are you here?" He drawled, voice thick as he walked closer with his head cocked to the side to watch the wolf. "And tell me your name." The black thing may have thought himself some form of beast of the night due to colour, but in the end he was just another wolf. A wolf who right now was as boring to him as Rayne, a dangerous place to be. Unless interest was won he'd rip the stranger's throat out, no mercy for someone randomly wishing to screw around on the border. This was not the time. Not the place. The black one would learn this soon unless he spoke.
"Answer quickly~" Words were more of a hiss as he narrowed eyes, flickers of an all to nasty smile pulling at his mouth.

[[ this is open for others, if you guys were curious. XP ]]
His muscles rippled beneath his smooth fur, the waves of tensed muscle seeming an oddity among the lithe body. A slight scowl pursed his lips, that cold glare stabbing the darkness as though it were nothing but the single thread of a spider's web. How long had it been since he'd set foot anywhere so close to that damned dungeon? How long had it been since those paws had been tainted by the stagnant, putrid hypocrisy? And even as he lay not more than half a mile away from that hell he'd forsaken, the brute could feel the awkward air about it all. That all too familiar scent, of Imperium, drifted past his nostrils, though another scent had mingled with it. But the focus of the darkened timber led him to only see what he'd expected to see - Imperium. Just so, the soil that his paws led him so dangerously close to might mark him as a tresspasser... a dangerous creature. Except this time he did not know.
All too quickly the thudding of paws that carried a heavy body sounded, and the timber whirled his head around just in time to catch the mutant waltzing on in. The serpentine manner in which this creature made its entrance, the tilting of the head upon its elongated neck, the swift and agile movements of its body, and while the intruder stood in a bit of shock, there was, indeed, wonder plastered upon his face. Pale eyes widened a bit as the realization that this beast was real, and then his body caught on. In an instant, Night swivelled, turning his body to face his possible opponent, his muscles tense and ready. While he could not smell any potential danger, he figured that this mutated monster could very well be abnormal in the head as well as the body. A huff, and the timber completed his assessment. Impressive. How had this creature been bestowed a mighty figure, while he was cursed with his lanky skeletal structure? Size meant power, and oh how the ex-Consul was envious.
"Why are you here?" A heavy voice, deep enough to stun the bastard from speaking for a good second. "And tell me your name. Answer quickly~" A smirk and the black brute stood up tall, or at least as tall as he could. Why the hell shouldn't he? It's not like his tall stance could possibly threaten a beast who would still stand ever so taller? Puffing out his chest, his tail flickering gently behind him, he let his paws daintily step forwards, as though turning the key for his voice to activate. "Well, oh snake-beast, I didn't mean to intrude on your mucky shore..." He didn't like the marshes, now did he? The mountains were far more grand... "I merely mean to pass through to your neighboring pack to the north. My needs require me to come in through the south... hopefully you can understand the importance of such fine details..." That snakecharmer's grin, spread wide my friend, "... as for my name? You may refer to me as Night." Your Reaper.
At that moment, he would stand still. Everything rested solely on timing and reactions. Jeopardy, what's your choice?

Her favorite thing about this packs besides the chaos and demons, as the freedom. Though trying to leave might be frowned upon, there was still a chance you could go and live to tell the tale. Her first week and she'd spent it all outside the borders dragging others in. And then she'd spent the next one barely within the borders watching. And for all else, she was looking for someone to come for her, them, us. Great minds think alike. Or perhaps she was stalking the alpha, that was a funny thought."Why are you here? And tell me your name. Answer quickly~"Trotting to curl up the right side of her alpha, attempting for a moment to brush the foreleg against his hock in a silent promise of companionship, lips pulled back into a coy grin that might as well have silently said ''well well well lookeh what we have hur.'' "Well, oh snake-beast, I didn't mean to intrude on your mucky shore...I merely mean to pass through to your neighboring pack to the north. My needs require me to come in through the south... hopefully you can understand the importance of such fine details...... as for my name? You may refer to me as Night." "How presumptuous." She murmured, perhaps more to herself than to anyone else, but it was a sly comment meant to pass through the ears of anyone was willing to listen. But rather than comment back and ask just why these ''fine details'' were so important, or snap something witty such as ''nobody asked your name, you know''. It was probably smarter to let Tezcacoatl do all of the talking. Pride often consumed beings, and specifically of this pack. She waited, deterring away from her pack mate to threateningly semi-circle the stranger. Hackles bristling. Just say the word. Or hell, wave a paw. Sometimes Kye didnt mind being a mindless dog. Especially if it offered up brownie points.

A brush and quivering muscles relaxed, head turning to the side to watch for a moment as Kye made herself known. An odd one she was turning out to be, and perhaps it was due for them to have a little one to one. They'd yet to do so, hm? There was a lot to say there, or perhaps more to do. She was his captain now? Ahaha, well there is a war coming my dear harlot. The time was coming to sharpen the garters that hid vicious blades. They would be ready, and he would see to it. Still, the violet beast had a mild sense of 'unknown' to Tez. The one who'd rolled up in the middle of a raid and fought for him. She was creeping into the realm of 'interesting'.
"Well, oh snake-beast, I didn't mean to intrude on your mucky shore... I merely mean to pass through to your neighboring pack to the north. My needs require me to come in through the south... hopefully you can understand the importance of such fine details..... as for my name? You may refer to me as Night."
Blahblah nothing but silly excuses that were in part inadequate for the fact this fool intended to simply waltz through Eschaton to do so, tsk tsk silly doggy. The trick to life was to be the one holding all the cards, and Tezcacoatl was nothing if not wonderfully good at this game. He had not only all the cards, but a couple of knives and sawn-offs thrown in there for the shit and giggles. In this swamp there were none superior to what he'd come to take and command. This mismatched army that tore the heads from the vipers that spread such silly slander about their own supremacy. This wolf seemed to be another snake, and as luck would have it one of his knives happened to roll up more than ready to behead to serpent. Though hadn't she been there all the while? Haha~
"How presumptuous."
She was correct~ "So," he drawled, head lowering as eyes flickered to Kye. There was the chance that there was a hunt afoot, best be ready~ "You want to walk through my land on this jolly trip of yours~? Haha! Isn't he a funny one, my dear~?" Come, laugh at what is such a stupid idea from a pompous wolf. He presumed too many rights, and it could cost him so. Still, he was a curious sort. He liked to know what was happening at all times, he deserved to know. "Which pack do you intend to go to? What do you want with them?" If he was going to join them he would die. If he was making a general trip there he would die. If his answer was anything less than satisfactory he would die.
Unlike most in this world Tez was not full of hot air, threats were genuine from him.
"Don't witter on at me, keep to the point or we'll have your tongue." He was in no mood to be listening to long speeches. He wanted the short and hard facts. Much more useful.

[[ sorry for the wait~ ]]
The bastard stood still as the other took in his rather droll words, slipping off his tongue one after the other. It wasn't until the last syllable was uttered that the timber wolf noticed the other wolf slowly but surely slinking up behind her lizard companion. Damn, this pack sure was whacked. A roll of his shoulders and Night cleared his throat, his pale green eyes holding their stare upon the intricately-marked hellion. While he felt as though his spirits should be faltering, perhaps even completely crushed by this building resistance, he had an unhealthy amount of guts about him. The mundane silence pursued itself for a good few seconds, neither beast moving more than a few inches to accommodate themself. A deep inhale by Night was interrupted as the dark she-wolf let her serpent's tongue work magic,
"How presumptuous." "So, you want to walk through my land on this jolly trip or yours~? Haha! Isn't he a funny one, my dear~?" The timber brute shuffled his paws, noting how his form still soaked in the mucky bog of the watery soil. Here, he was close enough to the neutral waters to make himself feel at ease, but these beasts must have a different sense of ownership when it came to the marshlands. Keeping his cool, Night wouldn't let these two intimidate him - they had nothing to bother him with. The beast had seen all too much from this world, and to be honest, perhaps he was just too damn arrogant to feel irked in the first place. The goal of his current mission would not be swayed by such petty feelings of insecurity. And so he'd wait for the alpha beast to continue, hopefully carrying on from the wishwash.
"Which pack do you intend to go to? What do you want with them? Don't witter on at me, keep to the point or we'll have your tongue." Hmm, what would life be without a tongue? The thought of this possibility slipped into the bastard's head, whirling about and stirring up ideas and assumptions. Oh damn, he wouldn't be able to woo his sweet loves quite as successfully, now would he? Such a disadvantage that would be, and so he shook his pelt as though shedding the bullshit. This other male had the right attitude - one that Night could actually understand and respect. Only a few could reach this point in the Reaper's realm. "To your north, I seek to invade Imperium." Should he give him even those delicious, juicy details? "They..." Why the fuck not? It made for a good fairy tale, "They have my daughter there, and without me I fear for her innocence... her life." He would not let them drain her life of reality - damn Imperium if they thought they could corrupt her fragile mindset with their hypocrisy. The sooner Carmena would be free, the better off she'd be. "The fools will be occupied with their games and contests, I mean to sneak in the most convenient and unguarded slot to take her away quietly." Was this enough? "They don't deserve her..."
There. That was enough.

"So, you want to walk through my land on this jolly trip or yours~? Haha! Isn't he a funny one, my dear~?"Laughed morphed into a twisting display of teeth and tongue, black and lavendar striped behemoth tipped the head a fraction down, a mixture of grime rising from her throat in the form of a gurgling growl/chuckle. "Which pack do you intend to go to? What do you want with them? Don't witter on at me, keep to the point or we'll have your tongue.""To your north, I seek to invade Imperium. They...They have my daughter there, and without me I fear for her innocence... her life""Aww, unfortunate."She sympathized with him as much as she sympathized with the puppies she'd enslaved, the son she'd abused, and the families she'd seperated. If Night was trying to play on their emotion, he might be surprised that neither of them held any. Tezcacoatl would have her head the moment she turned her back, and she'd have his head the moment he closed his eyes. Emotion meant vulnerability. It was painfully obvious. "The fools will be occupied with their games and contests, I mean to sneak in the most convenient and unguarded slot to take her away quietly. They don't deserve her...""And what do we get in return if we let you continue on this heart touching quest?"A glance towards Tezcacoatl then, sides of lips curling upwards in a disturbing simper. Inching closer - and closer. Silently promising, Make it worth our wild or you've wasted our time. And too waste the time and attention of Eschaton would they could be doing better things, planning a raid -- going through strategies -- or taking something that wasnt theirs. Well, it came with a price. Nothing was ever free.-- and now that she knew Night cared significantly for his daughter, that he might just do anything to get to her. They could use this to their advantage. He was at their whim whether he realized it or not because the moment he turned down whatever her alpha said, she was going to tear him to shreds. He'd die here in Eschaton's control. A slave to their hierachy. Or he'd die gutted just beyond the nuetral territory either way he'd die. if it was up to her.

The bastard watched carefully as the bitch before him simply stared, her eyes seeking nothing but the very core of his soul. Intriguing, dear wench. Shuffling his paws, he stood just a bit taller as he returned the same glare, as if making it painfully clear that he would back down as much as she would. Respect? Oh he'd give some, but only as much as he felt necessary. Subservience wasn't respect, and the slender timber knew better than to grovel and beg and plead for some useless type of mercy at the hands of a tyrant. As those bright eyes gleamed, daring to accept the challenge of this she-beast, the brute let a small smirk stretch in a 'hmm' notion before disappearing into his nonchalant scowl.
His words seemed to have little effect here. The beasts of hell knew all too well the works of fellow demons. In a way, this delighted Night. Hello, friends...
""Aww, unfortunate."
"Indeed." He wouldn't roll over, belly up with tail tucked to her vicious demeanor. No. Night would go along with it, rather enjoying this time with beings of similar mindset. "Would you let inferior beasts keep what they're too futile to maintain?" By the very fact that these monsters must've done exactly that to claim land, he'd be quite shocked if they objected that statement. In this world, it was all dog-eat-dog, the strongest would survive. And Imperium, as far as he was concerned, was faltering under tremendous pressure. He wouldn't let his darling be there when it fell, crushing her innocent bones beneath their corruption and false ways. While his motives seemed to be more along the mindset of a dutiful father, Night knew damn well that if he couldn't have his daughter back, he'd find another way to make the pack suffer. Saving his daughter wasn't the whole deal, but fucking his ex-pack sideways by invading and stealing one of "their own". The thought of such sweet, sweet revenge caused the brute to resist a chuckle.
"And what do we get in return if we let you continue on this heart touching quest?"
She seemed to be taking charge, now wasn't she? A swift inhale and the timber swivelled to face the dark female directly. He now knew exactly - well, close enough - who he was dealing with, and had enough information to properly word his response carefully. These bastards cared little about humanities - a model after his own heart. They could throw honor off a damn cliff, for all they cared. What else was there, in these corrupted, degraded marshes? Power. Wealth. Prosperity. Perhaps that would be the key, here. "My leader is raising a pack to the northeast, stealing land from a clan known as Marre's Keep. In exchange for your cooperation," In one way or another, "we could offer tangible treasures or tools. We have potentials, humans to be exact, whom offer a large amount of wealth to be shared. Perhaps, even, an alliance of sort if you feel the need to..."
El Dorado, as the Captain had said, was an unstoppable force in the making. Whether these monsters wanted a part of it, whether they wanted to work with the Reaper, was up to them.
Common sense pointed to one choice.

"The fools will be occupied with their games and contests, I mean to sneak in the most convenient and unguarded slot to take her away quietly. They don't deserve her..." "And what do we get in return if we let you continue on this heart touching quest?"
He listened in silence, the mocking bird for once quelling his song to observe with beady eyes. A protective father. Always exploitable. Wonderfully easy to manipulate because now nothing could really stop them going and razing Imperium themselves, not when they could get a pretty little bargaining chip from it. The key with Tez was only to play certain cards, and never give him the full set. Once you had done that, as this wolf stupidly had, you'd given him power over yourself and ultimately lost out. As long as he won he didn't care who he hurt to get it, be it enemies or allies. To him it was all the same really. Night had lost any upper hand he'd had there, and unless he'd brought something more to the table it would be a costly mistake.
Kye posed good points though, and he was content to wait for an answer. Why waste his breath, eheh~?
"My leader is raising a pack to the northeast, stealing land from a clan known as Marre's Keep. In exchange for your cooperation, we could offer tangible treasures or tools. We have potentials, humans to be exact, whom offer a large amount of wealth to be shared. Perhaps, even, an alliance of sort if you feel the need to..."
Now they were getting somewhere~ "We killed the queen of that keep," he crooned, honey soft words as he moved closer. "We tore her head from her shoulders and ripped out her heart." So perhaps consideration was in order. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, even if grudgingly. The words were a warning though, a strong one. They would do the same to Night in a heartbeat. There was no mercy in Eschaton. "What stops us from simply taking these things you promise?" Logic, dear boy. He was reliant on the fact that Tez was no mindless beast who would focus only on bloodshed. Today he was lucky.
"Poisons and fire," he stated flatly. He could put both to very good use, they were forces he could essentially use to decapitate a pack without ever having to lift a finger. He wanted these things, and if Night would agree then a deal could indeed be made here. "Human tools are no use to us, we have no thumbs~ However, give me those two things and we will cooperate." He sat then, tail coiling as he regarded Kye for a moment. Less genuinely looking at her and more considering as a whole. "And someone who can use and control them them. Or show us how." He wasn't going to have this land burnt down or accidentally poisoned due to ignorance. That would be... a bit of a bugger really. Laughable certainly, but something to avoid.
"An alliance would also be favourable, hm?" In this time when a war was coming he would not turn down something like that. He wasn't a fool. He knew when and where he could get what he wanted, and here and now conveniently seemed to be the place. "If you are attacked, we will come. If we are attacked, you will come. If you cannot help us directly then we would expect you to at least destroy the land of those who turned their backs on it to attack us. We will do the same for you. In addition, we will not use the tools you give us against you, nor will we give them to those who would. You will refrain from doing so too. Acceptable?" He'd assume so. If there was anything the other felt the need to add then he could do so, but it may have been best to leave things where they were lest sleeping dogs bite.
"Will your leader honour all of this?"

(( No no I understand completely! I didnt mean for that to sound angry or anything. Akante wante<3)) She might have started laughing a bit too sincerely beneath her breath when Night straightened himself out, trying to keep hands on his pride. But he'd already torn down his pride and respect when he'd told them virtually everything. What type of belligerent monster, was so gullible, held allegiance, and loved. Another unimportant face of the masses. Another wangster. Another want-to-be. "Indeed.Would you let inferior beasts keep what they're too futile to maintain?""It's questionable," She began, a slobbery tongue twisting and coiling between rows of crooked teeth and then dabbing between to wet thin lips. " how futile inferior beast came to grab it in the first place." A slight tilt of the chin then, smiling as if she was going to say -- full of curiosity and not accusation. Dont you think?"My leader is raising a pack to the northeast, stealing land from a clan known as Marre's Keep. In exchange for your cooperation, we could offer tangible treasures or tools. We have potentials, humans to be exact, whom offer a large amount of wealth to be shared. Perhaps, even, an alliance of sort if you feel the need to..."Kyeza might have continued her integral questioning, her empire had been one of suspicion when she'd lead it. When those had come in her lands asking such things she'd flat out denied them -- but -- she couldnt deny the spark of interest, the power that this one offered. But, "We killed the queen of that keep, We tore her head from her shoulders and ripped out her heart. What stops us from simply taking these things you promise? Poisons and fire,Human tools are no use to us, we have no thumbs~ However, give me those two things and we will cooperate. And someone who can use and control them them. In addition, we will not use the tools you give us against you, nor will we give them to those who would. You will refrain from doing so too. Acceptable?"Although she'd sat quietly, observing and listening, stoic and faceless. She'd been impressed by Tezcacoatl. Realizing she might not have executed the alliance as smoothly as he did. Aware of her paranoia and daddy issues almost -- she'd still convince herself building walls kept all the bad out. Perhaps a little childishly she'd harbored her pack agaisnt her chest. Only she could hurt them, only she could praise them. If it'd made it past the first generation there might have been some sort of brainwashing involved. But there was still one question that made a lip twitch, that made the head lift sightly to regard Night with beady, narrowed, pale eyes. "Will your leader honour all of this?"And instead of responding with a yes will they. In the sort of droll repeat, marking her wordless, useless. The captain displayed her interest by hovering slightly closer. Hot, rotten breath falling on the dark fur of the stranger less to intimidate and more to convey severe interest in response. Here's to hoping it was a good one.

[[ lol whoops. sorry for the wait. >.>; ]]
Stand your ground. Those words would be repeated over and over and over again in the brute's mind. At this point, he felt the first bit of intimidation, and what a feeling it was! He had never really felt this type of sensation before, or at least enough for him to actually recognize what it was that he felt. But here, before these two beasts, the Reaper could feel his nerves growing cold, his heartrate beginning to pick up, and his senses on high alert. Perhaps he should feel frightened, too, right? Wasn't that an emotion that was usually associated with this... intimidation? If he was, then Night couldn't locate where it might be hiding. Instead he did his best to withhold the grin that desperately wanted to stretch itself wide onto his maw. His fangs wished to greet these other fellow monsters with his toothy sneer, but instead they were held back. Night would have to behave, for the most part, as he was nothing more than bait dangled on a loose wire. It would be best not to fall off.
"It's questionable, how futile inferior beast came to grab it in the first place."
That grin managed to break past the restraints, his eyes narrowing in amusement. "Well, where were you to stop them...?" Her question was more than valid, but his response would stand just as strongly as hers did. He, himself, hadn't been anywhere near the marshes when the fools of Imperium had stomped through and claimed some turf for themselves. No. He'd been far off into the mountains, maintaining his own little patch of paradise while waiting for the dirty work to be done. A clever leech as he would do well to wait...
"We killed the queen of that keep," Auds turned before his head did, pale green eyes staring as if focused. Oh? How intriguing... This certainly would stir things up... "We tore her head from her shoulders and ripped out her heart." A silent chuckle choked out of the timber's throat, his sneer spreading, "Weaklings make good for protein, yes...?" Yes, indeed. "What stops us from simply taking these things you promise?" At that the smirk twitched momentarily, his humor briefly disappearing. Ahhh, a threat. The thrill of that intimidation rose up again, and instead of fervently boasting about his Captain's prospective pack, he'd answer quite simply, "Death." Night knew he'd never let himself live with allowing himself to be so thoroughly disgraced and humiliated due to his own fault, his own meddling with this lizard-king. And so he'd stand, not budging, not allowing himself to be toppled over like a weakling. While he may not have the best hand, here, Night knew better than to call it in.
"Poisons and fire. Human tools are no use to us, we have no thumbs~ However, give me those two things and we will cooperate." That grin would appear again, as if satisfied with where this was leading. "And someone who can use and control them them. Or show us how." He'd shift one of his forepaws, his head raising itself a bit, "That'd be me..." Aren't they so damn lucky? They get to see him even more often than they'd probably like! Oh, so lucky. "An alliance would also be favourable, hm?" A nonchalant nod would be in order, and the black beast would wait, " If you are attacked, we will come. If we are attacked, you will come. If you cannot help us directly then we would expect you to at least destroy the land of those who turned their backs on it to attack us. We will do the same for you. In addition, we will not use the tools you give us against you, nor will we give them to those who would. You will refrain from doing so too. Acceptable?"
"Of course." What other words were necessary, here? The tingling sensation of intimidation was overwhelmed with success and pride, a dangerous combination. But Night wore it well, as he always did.
"Will your leader honour all of this?" A curt nod, and he'd respond with his usual, suave tone, "Indeed, she loves a good bargain." The peculiar bitch was always one out and looking for a good deal, and here was one handed on a silver platter. All thanks to dear ol' Night. Such a good doggy, right? He should get a treat when he gets home. "Would you like to meet with her, to seal this contract?" His focus was to the lizard beast, not to his pet. If he was the leader, then perhaps he'd need to confirm this potential sweet deal with the Captain, herself?
Or how would they roll about this? A momentary pause, and he'd switch back, "Then am I granted such passage to the north...?" Or were they a bunch of lying, petty backstabbers?

"Death."
Pause a bit, as if genuinely considering.. and then laugh. "No, dear boy. I asked what was there for us, not what we'd be bringing~" A grin then, one full of nasty teeth and narrowed eyes. "You're funny. I rather like funny~" Because it wasn't boring, and that was the important thing. He needed amusement, almost like a child in it. He always needed to be doing something, something that was interesting. Menial tasks did not suit him, he'd bore easily and then just have a fuck the police moment dropping the task. His place here gave him something ore interesting to do. More amusing. It was likely the only reason he stayed. Weeell, that and the charming company. With so many lovely ladies around how could he leave?
"That'd be me..."
Well now, wasn't that interesting? "Then once you have done whatever you're going to do with that nasty little place return here and find me. We have a lot to talk about~" He would not have someone from another pack hanging around long term without knowing them... intimately~ Always better safe than sorry. "There is a war coming. We are to be attacked. If you expect me to trust you so easily then you will fight for me in it. If you refuse someone else who is more able will be required. I don't welcome the spineless~" A test was in order, yes? Night was asking a lot from someone who had far more, he had to give a little to gain something more useful than silly alliances and deals. Trust could not be bought with human trinkets. Not here.
"Indeed, she loves a good bargain. Would you like to meet with her, to seal this contract?"
There was too much going on for now. "Not until things are calm once more," came the simple statement. He would not leave here, and he would not be caught so flippant. His own special brand of caution was shown. "After that I will send word to your... lady. We will meet then~" A shoulder roll and he'd haul himself around, back turned and head cocked. "If she has an issue with our terms then you will send word. If none comes I will presume all is well and our deal is good." He'd sniff then, wicked smile once more on show. "And if you fail the terms you agree there will be.... consequences." Understand, little wolf? It was certainly in his best interests to.
"Then am I granted such passage to the north...?"
Always so needy. Silly doggies. Go bark at someone else. He started to walk away then. Interest now lost. "Yes yes. Go as you please. you have my, ah, blessing." A chuckle. "Captain. Accompany him and ensure that he does not wander. Do try to avoid killing him just for amusement though, hm? Plenty of that later!" Echos of laughter remained as his tail, the last visible part of him, slid through into the underbursh.
He was gone.

"Well, where were you to stop them...?"Inclined her head slightly, tilting it - was she suppose to be there? Was there some sort of agenda for the behemoth that was hidden, laying bloodied and soaked under the bodies she'd slain? More importantly should there have been some reason she was there to protect something she never cared about. Ah, more importantly, where were you?. Instead of answering, she blatantly laughed, as if Night had played it off well. As if he'd bested her or something of the short when she could just as easily dive into hours of discussion - then violence - on the subject. Because violence never followed short of her .. discussion. But that was neither here nor there and Tezcacoatl went on with his terms and she followed suit. "Yes yes. Go as you please. you have my, ah, blessing.Captain. Accompany him and ensure that he does not wander. Do try to avoid killing him just for amusement though, hm? Plenty of that later!" Might have echoed Tez's laughed with a twisting smile, neither fake or exaggerated it was a slight twitch at the corners of her lips - evidence that she was indeed perhaps a spick of normal. Swaying on her paws for a moment, licking pink tongue around corners of her jaws. "Dont linger~"and then moving to presumably lead the way. OOC// END?
