Well, it seemed the little weasel had peeked his interest about this El Dorado place, and this Rita character. He vaguely remembered telling his companion he wanted a quiet trip to wherever they were heading, it wasn't quiet however. Sonja was a talkative little rodent, speaking the world of this new pack that was developing and the leader being the smartest and most intelligent being. Puh. Shark would roll his eyes and let out a snort of disgust, some place.
Shark had an idea of making their acceptance a bit more appetizing however, for this Rita. Before they had left the Ancient Forest, he had told Sonja to go fetch the necklace she had in the tree. Nothing like having a couple a' recruits bringing gifts to the table to show their skills aye? Shark may be young, but he wasn't new to this game, thieves always appreciated gifts. As long as there were no strings attached, and this time there wouldn't be. Except maybe the catch for acceptance. Shark grinned to himself as he looked behind him to see where Sonja was.
"Come on weasel, we ain't got all day ya know?" He growled out to her, as he picked up his pace to a leisurely trot. He still carried the shiny necklace he had stolen from the humans in his mouth, he wasn't gonna give it up for just anything, no it would be saved as a last resort.
It was near noonish, when Shark and Sonja (who had been having trouble keeping up by the way) reached the border of El Dorado. The scent was noticeably fresh, and new, compared to other scents that were laying around. Shark would sit and wait there until Sonja had caught up to him. "You let me do the talking weasel. Aint' no wolf gonna respect something as small as you." He gave he a wink before lifting his head to the sky and letting out a howl. Calling a respectful greeting to the owner of these lands, asking for her presence.

Sonja had gone back for the necklace, as commanded, by Shark. She had... made another stop, so she had another trinket, it looked like an ivory circle, and could be used in ones ear? She supposed, but whatever. With the necklace's strings playing trip the pole-cat, she continually fell behind,
"Come on weasel, we ain't got all day ya know?"
She huffed, she knew this was pathetic, the wolf carried one thing, and here she was, carrying two. Not to mention the necklace was tripping her, she paused to try gathering the necklace in her left paw, and carried the pendant in her mouth. Both her gifts, were... probably not even from her. She glanced up at the wolf as he picked up his pace, she groaned softly as she struggled to keep up.
After she paused every half hour, for about a minute or so, until they finally got to El Dorado boarders. It took a minute for her to catch up, as she had been running slower than the wolf was walking. Being damn near exhausted did that to a pole-cat you know.
"You let me do the talking weasel. Aint' no wolf gonna respect something as small as you."
"Of course Shark." She said panting and dropping the trinkets on the ground, and simply laying on the ground, relaxing sore muscles, She would twitch and jump to her hind paws as soon as she could hear paw steps, she would hesitantly put a paw up on Sharks leg, before twitching to notice she had a cut, damn, must have happened when i had the pendant in my paw... She would settle down on her back end and watch for the owner of the lands to appear.

The female had been waltzing around the borders, laying down the scent markers to cover the rancid stenches of their previous owers. While she may have made an alliance with this Keep, she did not have to like them one bit. In fact, as far as the Captain was concerned, her loyalty would not be owed after she aided in the destruction of Almas Rotas. How could she have denied such a possibility? That pack, with their petty leader - Taramo - were dead to the blackblood mutt. Gaining land and securing his fall? Talk about two birds with a single damn stone. More like a boulder, if you thought about it.
But she wouldn't waste the time to do so.
Instead she picked up her pace, her fluffy tail waving behind her torso in a mixture of energy and exasperation. All the tendings that were due - setting up the terrain to her likings, letting in the worthy, damning the rest... all this was so unwanted to the female. All she hoped for was to have everyone in, BAM, just like that. Not everyone, exactly, but those who were destined to pull her pack up from the muck and into glory. Then again, how was she going to be able to distinguish those from the failures? Twitching her auds, Rita pursed her lips. Feminine intuition, perhaps? Her guts had rarely misled her, so why would she stop following them now? Puffing up her chest in her inextinguishable pride, the wolf lifted her head up as her paws led her further along the borders. So far everything seemed pretty empty - the last of the Marrians had moved their asses on out. About time.
A low howl burst through the thick air, and the female halted for a second. Lifting her maw up to the air, resounding a song of her own, she turned to face the direction of the call. Fierce eyes glared into the walls of foliage, where even the most acute eyes couldn't see through. But she still stared, as intently as she could, as if analyzing what may lay behind the vegetation before considering to head for it. Another second or two past, and with the indistinct chattering taking place beyond the shrubs, the Captain let out a curt 'hmph' before allowing her thick paws to propel herself forward.
One second. Two second. Three.
She broke through the wall of leaves and twigs, pushing them out of her way to intrude on whatever conversation these two had been having. These... two... A wolf. And a... weasel? Or perhaps an overgrown rat. Flickering an aud to the small female, she turned her gaze up to the male. "Quite the odd couple, huh?" Her voice sounded as though she were one of those sarcastic housewives, leading on to some pathetic joke before dropping it and getting onto business. Standing tall, her tail flickering upwards in her newly-justified authority, the Captain cast a judgemental gaze upon the two. Considering the fact that they'd called for her, she eliminated the possibility of invasion or attack. "What can you do for me?" Whether they were seeking acceptance, or messengers for some strange pack looking for an alliance, the question would still be useful.
But how they would answer could change oh so many cirucumstances.

It didn't take long for the little weasel like creature to catch up with the wolf, though he did notice she was having a hard time with the trinkets. All that mattered was she had made it, with the little presents, and that she would stay quiet. Watching Sonja lope up to him, he heard a return howl. Someone had heard him, good. Now it was just a waiting game, hopefully they wouldn't have to wait too long for who ever it was to swing by.
"Of course Shark."
At his request for her to stay silent, she sounded sarcastic, but as long as she really did keep her mouth shut, he figured all would be fine. Shark returned his gaze to the horizon, wondering where the hell this wolf was that had just howled back. He squinted, wondering if that maybe would help with it-- nope. "What the hel---" Shark was in mid-sentence when something burst from behind the bushes, squeezing between him and Sonja. What the hell..
"Quite the odd couple, huh?"
Shark raised a brow, giving this, wolf before them a once over. Just who did she think she was, waltzing in on someone like that? "We, Shark said motioning his head down to Sonja, "Ain't no couple. Travelling partners is all." So nice of you to impose though.. Shark snorted. He wondered if this was the almighty Rita. The one Sonja spoke of so highly.
"What can you do for me?"
Shark's eye twitched, just a tick. She was short and to the point, great, he would have hated to draw this out. "We're thieves by nature, we steal, lie and pillage. She's small enough to go through human camps unnoticed, and I'm slick enough to take things when I want them." His brows were lifted as he replied, he was boasting, yes, but what harm was their in telling the truth? He glanced down at Sonja, motioning her to push the trinkets towards Rita. "Plus, we come bearing gifts."

"What the hel---"
She gasped and jumped away from Shark to avoid being trampled by large paws. She flicked her ears back and watched the large wolves, suddenly, if not before, highly, pardon the pun, out sized. She kept her ears back and her eyes on Rita, this must be the wolf that she had overheard some creatures speaking of, she certainly looked the part,
"Quite the odd couple, huh?"
If she could have flushed, she would have, and keeping to her word, she kept her trap shut, she nervously glanced back and forth between the two giants, both were, obviously, MUCH, larger than she was. Much to her distress, she clung to the ivory earring and the antler bone pendant, clutching them to her small breast. Her teal eyes taking in what was happening, and her ears catching sounds, the rumors said she was unruly, apparently, the rumors didn't do the female justice. However, during this uncertain moment, her appearance was calm, other than the clutching of the items in her paws, unfortunately, the triangle pendant was cutting into her paw again, wincing as the male spoke directly after Rita did,
"We - Ain't no couple. Traveling partners is all."
She carefully scurried closer to Shark, though more so she felt safer, not that Shark would protect her. They might think she was simply getting closer to Rita(Not the idea) or putting herself between(Again not the idea), or simply moving(The actual intention).
"What can you do for me?"
Being short, and only seeing the bottom of the wolves jaws, or their snouts at some points, she missed Shark's eye twitch.
"We're thieves by nature, we steal, lie and pillage. She's small enough to go through human camps unnoticed, and I'm slick enough to take things when I want them."
She wanted to add something, she could tie knots. Some, but if she got a hold of anything, she could almost always figure out the knots. She started to fiddle with the pendant, with the earring over her arm. She twitched her ear at Shark, glancing up to meet his gaze before giving a half hop, and raising up to hold the pendant and earring up for the accessorized wolf. She hated being this close to a wolf she didn't know, but how else could she show her. She would prefer to be the one to step closer, rather than vice versa.
"Plus, we come bearing gifts."
She would stand on her hind-legs, holding carefully still, her tail twitching to help keep her balance. Her eyes were lowered, to avoid Rita's, her ears were flat, but mostly to hear from Shark, if he had anything to say that is. She was more afraid of the cut on her paw under the ivory earring. If the female desired Sonja to speak, she would, but for now, she was rather content being silent via intimidation.
Rita said:
The she-wolf kept her gaze on the brute beside her as he stare with the most entertaining look. Oh, she almost wanted to laugh in his face about his expression, but she'd save that for another day. While humiliation was a dear friend of hers - when she instilled it on others, that is - the Captain knew that it would best be suited at a later time. For now she'd maintain that heavy gaze, her eyes not bothering to blink. her auds remained erect, pointing forwards to increase the tension in the air. Oh, how she enjoyed being able to manipulate the atmosphere to her own desires. Her neck almost ached from how diligently she held her head out, staring the male down. Tick. Tick. Tock.
"We ain't no couple. Traveling partners is all"
He answered right on cue, and she would nonchalantly dip her head in appreciation. It was damn smart of him not to waste her precious time. All this petty work, getting these idiots in her pack, it was time consuming and definitely not Rita's first choice of what to do with her day. A heavy sigh and she turned to ace the rat... weasel... thing to her other side. Before she could even make eye contact, the small girl wiggled herself closer to the blue male. Was she scared? "No guts, no glory." Fear won't get you anywhere. Stepping back, as if giving the two their own space again, the blackblood mutt sat herself down a hefty few paces in front of the others. She'd keep an erect posture, her tail thumping behind her as she awaited some sort of response. Let's get the ball rolling, already.
"We're thieves by nature, we steal, lie and pillage. She's small enough to go through human camps unnoticed, and I'm slick enough to take things when I want them."
A wicked grin spread between the she-wolf's ears, her teeth glimmering as they took in and reflected the sun's rays. Ah, thieves were they? And how could they prove such a valuable trait? With an exaggerated flicker of her left ear, she turned her gaze to the weasel. "Thievery is such an interesting career choice, wouldn't you say?" Interesting and exciting - one of the most elite out there. Any fool can clamp his jaws shut, and pup can run this way and that. But it took a master to be able to sneak in, undetected, locate his target, and capture it without leaving a single piece of evidence that would suggest his presence. Oh, she could use these two, if what they said were true.
Plus, we come bearing gifts."
Quickly looking to where the other gestured, she looked down onto the precious trinkets the rodent provided. Perhaps her face gave away the minute trace of shock that she felt, had they known of her thoughts? A 'hmm' trilled from her close lips, her eyes inspecting the treasures momentarily before stepping forward. Lifting a forepaw, she poked and prodded the offerings, as if suspicious of their validity. A moment later and she'd drag them back towards her. "And who might you be, to offer me these?" Names, dear folk. Give me your names, and I can give you your place in the world.
"Are you mute?"
Her question, along with a judging gaze, would be focused on the weasel. Sure, having a weasel in the pack would be odd enough. But one that couldn't even speak?
Quite the odd combination.
Shark said:
She was irritating to a point, this female. If the need called for it later, he would most certainly rub this in Sonja's face. Her almighty, amazing Rita figure turned out to be a smart-ass, but then, so was he. So maybe it would turn out for the best. As he responded, rather rudely, to her question about them being an odd couple, she gave a slight dip of the head. He only assumed it was in understanding that there was no inter-species shenanigans going on between the two. Ew.
The words between Shark and the accessorized female in front of him were short, but to the point. At one point, the blackblood turned her gaze to the weasel, at which point Shark felt her scramble closer to him. This was a point at which he would roll his eyes.
"No guts, no glory."
As Rita stepped back and took a seat, and he let loose exactly what they were good for, Shark bent down a tad to reach Sonja's ear, "Don't be yellah'-bellied." Which of course to any other that spoke in his outlaw-esque language, he was basically telling the pole-cat to not be such a pansy.
"Thievery is such an interesting career choice, wouldn't you say?"
Lifting his head back up, and returning the sly smile the she wolf had strapped across her face, "Aye, but interesting is too small a word to describe it." Of course it was interesting, but there were many better words to describe his way of life. Exhilarating, exciting perhaps, would do it more justice. And as on cue, when he motioned to Sonja to give the small trinkets to Rita, she did just that. Shark looked on curiously as the large wolf seemed, what seemed to be surprise on her face as she looked on at the gifts. Only a fool would let such treasures go, and by the looks of herself, Rita was no fool. Eyeing the earrings and bit of wrapping on her head, Shark guessed she was a collector of trinkets as well. His suspicions fulfilled as she took a large paw and dragged the necklaces closer to her.
"And who might you be, to offer me these?"
Shark grinned slightly, "Shark. And the weasel is Sonja." Weasel, pole-cat, whatever she was.
"Are you mute?"
Shark followed her gaze to Sonja, taking a paw, he attempted to set it behind her and scoot Sonja more towards the front of himself, giving Rita a better view, and egging Sonja to speak. Now that she had been addressed, he supposed it would be ok for her to speak.
Akeail said:
"No guts, no glory."
Sonja flinched slightly and let her eyes fall to the ground, ears nearly touching behind her head. Guess they know, she lowered her head and moved away from shark a tad after he leaned down,
"Don't be yellah'-bellied."
She kept her eyes from the blue wolf, and shook herself in an attempt to regain some confidence, and somewhat succeeded as Shark told Rita about them being thieves.
"Thievery is such an interesting career choice, wouldn't you say?"
"Aye, but interesting is too small a word to describe it."
While Sonja agreed about the interesting career, she had to say, that it was more than interesting. Sonja hopped forward on command, and when the wolf came closer, even lifted her paw, she put the necklace and earrings down on the ground. Guess she wasn't gonna be a pedestal. She sat a little ways behind Shark now. Shark wanted to do all the talking,
"And who might you be, to offer me these?"
She looked up at shark as he started to grin,
"Shark. And the weasel is Sonja."
When Rita turned her head to look at her, her ears fell, as did her eyes,
"Are you mute?"
She glanced at Shark as he moved one of his large paws, and scooted forwards before he touched her. She sat up, "I'm not a mute," She said so quietly, but her voice growing in some volume, "but i seem to speak more boldly than liked." She again, glanced at Shark, and paused looking to Rita, she put a small arm across her chest and bowed, keeping her eyes on the wolfs muzzle the while, and with the other arm behind her, bowed and said, "Bein' a thief... I've seen many knots... and can replicate some..." She glanced up to the golden orbs, and held out her paws, longer fingers evident. She would pull them away and sit where she was, she didn't need Shark whispering more degrading things to her, nor did she need to be felt any more smaller than she already did. So, she simply sat in the middle, her cut paw, in her good paw. Of course, if Rita decided to snap at her, she'd dart backwards, but more away from Shark. She was humiliated enough, she knew better than to stick next to Shark. Though she knew she shouldn't be closer to Rita, but all the same, she was in the middle.

[[ you're in after this post, though we can continue if you wish~ ]]
The seconds seemed to tick by, and as far as she knew, the time passed by obnoxiously slow. The gazes and exchanges of glares between the two wolves was enough to delay any progress. The Captain would respond with a curt 'huff', her auds flickering while lowering themselves in aggression. Let's hurry this up - she had a damn good amount of things to do that she would actually give a damn about. Casting her eyes to stare off to the side, emphasizing her exasperation and impatience, she waited as the blue male uttered some insignificant words to his partner-in-crime. The weasel still refused to speak, whether it be from choice or fear, and the blackblooded mutt began to wonder what use she could be put to. These were appropriate thoughts for a distracted alpha, yes?
"Aye, but interesting is too small a word to describe it."
A grin would spread on her pale maw, her teeth itching to set themselves free from the hug they shared with her lips. That would be the exact type of answer she'd hoped for. Any fool can step up and claim to be a thief, but only those who were true to the mastery could properly depict their profession. The way of theft is not a lightweight path, in which the stereotypical ideas and concepts held their grasp. Here, where deception varied from situation to situation, and where the outcome could never be predicted, this was a true way of living. And he, this brute before the Captain, knew of this.
Kudos.
"Shark. And the weasel is Sonja."
Rita would mutter the names to herself, under her breath. Repetition was the key to memorization. Before she could repeat their names more than three times to herself, she watched as the weasel - err, Sonja - approached, the jewels and treasures in store. At once Rita opened her eyes just a tad bit wider, that grin seeming to spread even wider. Oh, yes. Hello there, sweet darlings, you'll be safe stored away in my den. Away from them. Her paw dragged them even more closely, tucking them away. Safe and sound.
"I'm not a mute," Well that's a relief, now isn't it? The tiny voice was almost inaudible amongst the ambience of the territory, and so the she-wolf puffed out her chest, raising her chin ever so slightly. This gesture, one of confidence, would hopefully be enough to encourage the recruit to speak the fuck up. "but I seem to speak more boldly than liked. Bein' a thief... I've seen many knots... and can replicate some..." Hmm. The Captain observed, noting that which was clearly obvious. The agile digits of the weasel would certainly be useful to the pack in the future. At least until she could find a human to enslave as her own. The very thought of El Dorado's aspiring future caused a slight chuckle to sound. Ahh, such sweet thoughts.
Returning her attention to the two before her, she cleared her throat and stood straight. "Well, hopefully you can truly prove yourselves," Welcome in. "You're both Sailors, until you prove yourself to become more - which shouldn't take long..." Those words were not spoken in encouragement, but more so as a warning. Don't waste her time by lollygagging about. A short second later and Rita turned to Sonja, lowering her head a bit towards her, "You're most likely going to become a Rigger... unless you spontaneously grow a few feet." Like that'll ever fucking happen.
And then she'd turn around, heading into the territory. Ask questions if they want - she really couldn't care.
As far as she was concerned, Rita had managed to bring in two more souls. Two more damned to serve her.
Success.
