Appearance
Sporting a rather grim coloration that might bring to mind warfare carnage beneath a starless midnight, Khalon was possessed of a warrior's proud armor draped thoughtfully in the ancient robes of history's gothic era, body seemingly molded before conception in all the proper ways necessary to conquer. Maternal melanism is disrupted by flays of bright red a direct contrast to the stormy gray dragging his muzzle and underbelly away from the otherwise intense visual spectacle of his coat. Fur deep and shaggy was likely quite soft when his time on earth commenced, but currently lies toughened by vindictive rays of sun. Sol's reach, however, could not affect the manner in which that hair lies oddly loose over skin similarly elastic, flexing over the hard, broad rocks of muscle just beneath; presumably this could come in handy for opponents seeking to bury fangs into vitals and getting a mouthful of hide much less important in comparison. Burly extremities suggest thick bones, but overall the monarch is not so much a behemoth as he is one respectfully mauled by circumstance into his physical prime. Conclusively, Khalon's eyes are the most believable shade of burnt, molten orange you'll ever see, not to the point of being "entrancing," but they are aesthetic, if not sharp, highlights of his feline face. Had they the power to kill, certainly they'd be wanted for murder.
Personality
An adroit mental parallel to his partner monarch, the smilodon's world is one painted in sharp contrasts of black and white where the aforementioned views the universe in precarious shades of gray. However, Khalon is not only one with an unflinching moral ground, but he also gets to choose said blacks and whites and define them clearly for his peers... While certainly a powerful, inspiring figurehead, one often cannot coexist alongside such an imposing personality without a certain amount of fear, or even hatred. His words, while woven with a king's charisma when necessity calls for it, are to the point and blunt like a punch, yet spoken almost as if carved precisely before leaving his mouth to enunciate himself quite accurately and remove anything inconsequential to his train of thought. Truly an insight into the tactical mind behind the charming eyes that always seem to glare.
Overall Khalon's demeanor is consistent and characteristically shrewd with an everlasting touch of suspicion, akin to the sort of man who could smell a conspiracy at a child's lemonade stand, and his convictions are strong, never watered down by whimsy. He is furthermore a beast that believes there is always a right and a wrong, and that while your perceptions on such a subject will ultimately define you to him, this is a double-edged sword in that some of his ideas such a belief creates can at times be "too" logical, thus fating him to others shunning a cat they simply view in humbled horror as cold, or even heartless. Truth is, the label instilled is an incorrect one; Khalon is not stone, he has feelings like the rest of the creatures in his kingdom with a little more reservation to their presentation, though somewhere inside the warrior has decided he simply doesn't understand others and resigned himself to a lurker's career in the interest of efficiency while Lycurgus deals with public relations.
Despite being rather standoffish and intimidating to those otherwise uneducated on personalities such as his, Khalon is summarily an admirable beast with the best intentions at heart whether or not one should agree with his questionable actions. The smilodon is willing to fight and die for the civilians he's been given to rule, and no matter the ferocity shown to those who oppose, the royal never doubts that war does not negate decency, but demands it even more so than times of peace.
